Do you know a child interested in building blocks or young adult that is great and being creative? If so, they might be destined to become an architect. The goal of our Future Architects Initiative is to inspire the next generation, foster, educate, and help navigate the path to a career in architecture.
What is Architecture? Architecture is a blend of art, science, and the practice of designing the built environment. It is all around us. Look around you, most likely the building you are in or the structures that you see were designed by an architect.
What is an Architect? Architects are problem solvers and forward-thinkers. They combine their imagination and art, along with science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to design projects.
What does an Architect do? Architects are people just like you who design buildings and other structures. They also lead a team of collaborators including the owner, engineers, builders, and many others to create a piece of history.
How can you tell if an individual is interested or has the skills to become an Architect? A fascination for blocks, building kits, inventions, and a curiosity for how mechanical objects and structures work. Those interested are often makers, team players, problem-solvers, and care about their surroundings.
