Architect Recognized for Public Service to Glenwood

Glenwood, Iowa (April 3, 2017) – Peter Franks, AIA, a member of the American Institute of Architects, Iowa Chapter (AIA Iowa) has been recognized as a participant in the AIA Iowa Citizen Architect Program by AIA Iowa for service to the Glenwood area.
Franks, of The Franks Design Group, PC in Glenwood, was elected to a 2nd-term as a Board Member and 2016-17 Board President of The East Mills Community School District Board of Education. The East Mills CSD has been recognized for five consecutive years with the Iowa Association of School Boards Carolyn Johns Better Boardsmanship Award for consistently high levels of Board development training and ongoing attention to student achievement in setting goals, priorities, and policy. As Board President, Peter works closely with the District’s Administration to structure and preside over regular and special meetings of the Board, serves as executive officer in agreements and other legally-binding documents, and periodically represents the district in external affairs. He has been a member of the Board since 2009.
