Amy Spike Promoted to Marketing & Programming Director, AIA Iowa


Des Moines, IA (January 2, 2017) The American Institute of Architects, Iowa Chapter (AIA Iowa) is pleased to announce the promotion of Amy Spike to Marketing & Programming Director of the American Institute of Architects, Iowa Chapter. Spike has been with the Chapter since fall of 2012 and has been an asset to the association and its members.


Spike is a Chicago-land native who transplanted to Iowa after graduating from Central College in Pella, IA in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Communications Studies.  Before working for AIA Iowa Spike worked for Global Spectrum (Spectra), the company that manages the Iowa Events Center as a Marketing Coordinator.


“Amy’s promotion is a reflection of her contributions to the Chapter and her initiative to go above and beyond in her service to the AIA Iowa membership,” said Executive Director of AIA Iowa, Jessica Reinert, Hon. AIA Iowa, CAE, IOM.


Amy Spike’s duties include: event planning and promotion of all Chapter events including the annual Convention with 160 exhibit booths and over 1,000 attendees, coordinator of all public relations, internal relations, and marketing for the Chapter. Including but not limited to: ad placements, press releases, op-ed pieces, and communications to the membership, coordinate all professional development programs for the Chapter, administer and maintain the two AIA Iowa websites: AIAIowa.org and IowaArchitecture.org, and overseeing the Public Relations, Professional Development, Iowa YAF, Spring Conference, and Annual Convention committees.
