There are different types of membership, choose the one the suits you. Click on the member types below to jump to each type or simply scroll down the page.
Architect Membership (AIA)
Individuals with an architectural license from a U.S. licensing authority, such as the Iowa Architectural Examining Board, are eligible for architect membership. Becoming an AIA Member connects you to over 98,000 colleagues across the globe.
Associate Membership (Assoc. AIA)
Associate membership is open to individuals who meet one of the following criteria: professional degree in architecture; currently work under the supervision of an architect; or currently enrolled in the Architectural Experience Program (AXP) and working toward licensure.
New Graduate (Assoc. AIA) - Have you recently graduated with a NAAB-accredited Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate professional degree in architecture within approximately the past 1-18 months. You may be eligible for up to 18 months of FREE membership.
International Associate (Int'l. Assoc. AIA) - Individuals who have an architecture license or equivalent from a non-U.S. licensing authority are eligible for International Associate membership.
Firm Membership of AIA Iowa
Architecture firms of any size are eligible to become AIA Iowa Firm Members. AIA Iowa represents your firm's interests across multiple arenas. We are your voice for advocacy at the state house, a source of marketing opportunities, and so much more.
Student Affiliate Membership of AIA IowaStudent Affiliate membership is open to full-time undergraduate or graduate students of a
NAAB-accredited accredited architecture school, or a full-time student of a secondary
school with academic participation in architectural coursework, within the state of Iowa.
Allied Membership of AIA Iowa
My company wants to market products and services to architects and other building industry professionals.
Professional Affiliate Membership of AIA Iowa
I want to build and strengthen communication among the design/construction team.

- If you have retired you may be eligible for Emeritus membership, contact AIA Iowa.

- If you have recently moved out of Iowa and would like to transfer to another Component please fill out the Chapter Transfer Request.
