Citizen Architect Advocacy Track Application 2016

 




The AIA Iowa Citizen Architect Program is an annual program that recognizes AIA Iowa members who represent AIA's values in their communities through public service. This program is a recognition bestowed upon all AIA Iowa members who meet the qualification criteria, and is intended to encourage all AIA Iowa members to actively engage in their communities and share in the AIA mission. Each member enrolled in the program will be recognized at the AIA Iowa Annual Convention, on the AIA Iowa website, and in the Iowa Architect Directory. This is a yearly program, regardless if you have participated in previous years you need to enroll again. 

Applications are due by June 30, 2016

 

 

Qualification Criteria 

Participants must...

1. be an AIA Iowa Member: Assoc. AIA, Assoc. AIA-E, Int'l Assoc. AIA, Student Affiliate, AIA-M, AIA-E, FAIA-M, or FAIA-E;

2. and meet or have a one-on-one conversation with their individual state legislators once a year;

3. and donate $50 to each of their state legislators once a year ($100 total annual donation).

     a. If a member's beliefs do not correlate with one of their individual legislators, they can donate the $100 to the other legislator instead.

     b. Or if a member's beliefs do not correlate with either of their individual legislators, they can donate to a different legislator or state official instead.
