A Glimpse of the Process at the Iowa Center for Architecture
Wednesday, March 8, 2017
Des Moines, IA (March 8, 2017) –The American Institute of Architects, Iowa Chapter (AIA Iowa) welcomes their newest member display at their office in downtown Des Moines. Throughout the year, AIA Iowa will feature the work of member firms- a new firm each month. The new exhibitor, frk architects + engineers, wrote the following about their display:
“frk architects + engineers sought to provide a glimpse into the design process. Conceived as a sculptural art installation, the piece utilizes tracing paper sketches produced by the architects and designers at frk during the process of design. Crumpled into unusual shapes, and suspended on monofilament, the sketches celebrate a common medium still used by designers to communicate their thoughts and ideas. You can learn more from the frk banner in the window.”
Displays are open to the public at 400 Locust Street, Suite 100 and can be seen while visiting Cowles Commons. The public is also welcome to come in to the office to view the display during business hours- Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm.
