Defining the Architect at the Iowa Center for Architecture
Wednesday, June 8, 2016
Des Moines, IA (June 8, 2016) The American Institute of Architects, Iowa Chapter (AIA Iowa) welcomes their newest member display at their office in downtown Des Moines. Throughout the year, AIA Iowa will feature the work of member firms- a new firm each month. The new exhibitor, Design Alliance, wrote the following about their display:
“The term ‘architect’ is seen a lot these days. Our display is a reminder of its original and primary definition taken straight from Merriam-Webster. The silhouettes of the Des Moines skyline and various Design Alliance projects show the uniqueness of each building and the important, collective role architect-designed buildings have in shaping cities throughout the State of Iowa.”
Displays are open to the public at 400 Locust Street, Suite 100 and can be seen while visiting Cowles Commons. The public is also welcome to come in to the office during business hours- Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm.
Since 1857, the American Institute of Architects has represented the professional interests of America's architects. AIA Iowa, headquartered in Des Moines, is a statewide affiliate of the national AIA.
