Iowa Chapter Attends Grassroots Conference
Des Moines, IA – March 20, 2014 –American Institute of Architects,
Iowa Chapter members and staff are visiting Capitol Hill this week at the
American Institute of Architects Grassroots Leadership Conference held in
Washington D.C., March 19-21. Executive Director Jessica Reinert, CAE, IOM,
along with individual members Joseph Tursi, AIA, Nathan Kalaher, AIA, Matt
Coen, AIA, and Jenna Thompson, Assoc. AIA will be visiting with several Iowa
legislative offices today, March 20.
“Our goal is to connect with Legislators this week to show the importance of
the architecture profession and the role architects play in Iowa communities,”
said Executive Director of AIA Iowa, Jessica Reinert, CAE, IOM. “All across the
state AIA Iowa members are making strides in cities to help build small
businesses, create jobs, and facilitate sustainable buildings through
renovation and restoration. Having the support of our legislators is necessary
to continue our success.”
The group will address the five main issues of helping small
businesses create jobs, repairing and strengthening our buildings, building
sustainable, resilient and vibrant communities, reforming government to build
better with less, and investing in next generation leaders.

engage in conference workshops in advocacy, leadership, civic engagement, and
