Architect Recognized for Public Service in the Sioux City Community

Sioux City, Iowa (April 30, 2013) – A member of the American Institute of Architects, Iowa Chapter (AIA Iowa) has been recognized as a participant in the AIA Iowa Citizen Architect Program by AIA Iowa for his service to the Sioux City area community.

Matt Basye, AIA, FEH Associates Inc., has been appointed to Vice President/Grant Review Committee Chair of the Siouxland Community Foundation.  Basye and committee members work to enrich the quality of life in the greater Sioux City area by seeking and managing charitable gifts to build permanent endowments, providing a flexible vehicle to receive and distribute gifts of all sizes, by creating grants in response to community needs, and offering services that will help to shape the well-being of the area.

Basye became involved in the Foundation four years ago after seeing the difference it was making in the region.  "The areas covered by this Foundation would not have many of the quality of life enhancements they do today if not for this organization,” commented Basye.

The Citizen Architect Program recognizes AIA Iowa members who represent AIA's values in their community through public service. To find out more about this program please visit AIA Iowa’s website.

Since 1857, the American Institute of Architects has represented the professional interests of America's architects. AIA Iowa, headquartered in Des Moines, is a statewide affiliate of the national AIA.
