This annual award program recognizes excellence in architecture and emphasizes its importance in the community. Nominations are sought each May and the winners are announced at the AIA Iowa Annual Convention.

25-Year Award
The purpose of the 25-Year Award is to honor a completed building project in Iowa, a single building, or groups of buildings, completed at least 25 but not more than 40 years ago. Nominations are sought each May and the winner is announced at the AIA Iowa Annual Convention.

Sustainable Design Award
The purpose of the AIA Iowa Excellence in Sustainable Design Award is to recognize excellence in sustainable design and emphasize its importance within the community and profession. Nominations are sought biennially in May and the winners are announced at the AIA Iowa Annual Convention.

Craft Award
The purpose of the AIA Iowa Allied Member Excellence in Craft Award is to celebrate Iowa craftspeople and/or companies who demonstrate particular skill and inventiveness in the execution and incorporation of their craft into our built environment. Nominations are sought biennially in May and the winners are announced at the AIA Iowa Annual Convention.
Craft Award is not available in 2010.

Educator Award
This award recognizes an Iowa educator within or outside the profession for his/her contributions to architectural education in Iowa. Any AIA Iowa member, colleague or student may nominate candidates for this award. Nominations are sought each May and the winner is announced at the AIA Iowa Annual Convention.

Honorary Membership Award
This award recognizes a person of esteemed character who is not eligible for membership in the Institute of this Chapter but who has rendered distinguished service to the profession of architecture or to the arts and science allied therewith within the territory of this Chapter may be admitted to membership in it as an Honorary Member. Nominations are sought each May and the winner is announced at the AIA Iowa Annual Convention.

Medal of Honor
