2010 AIA Iowa Spring Meeting Reset and Reconnect was held May 5 at HyVee Hall in Downtown Des Moines. The conference theme, Reset and Reconnect, reflected on the current state of our members’ professions. At the Spring Meeting, more 200 Architects and Design Professionals joined together to push the reset button as we navigate through a recovering economy and reconnect with our colleagues and professions.
Presentations addressed the current economic climate and key challenges in design and construction professions.
“The changing economy has created a new environment in the design and construction industries,” said Rick Seely, AIA, chairperson for the AIA Iowa Spring Meeting and associate principal of OPN Architects. “The Spring Meeting helped participants identify a variety of opportunities for growth that may not be immediately apparent, and it allowed us to reconnect with fundamental passions about our disciplines.”
